About Dr. Robert F. Smith

Dr. Robert Smith is originally from Iowa, however he lived in Arvada and Loveland, CO, as a child. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa in 1987, Dr. Smith entered the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He went on to complete his urology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. After working in Kansas City for over two decades, Dr. Smith has returned to Colorado with his family.

Dr. Smith enjoys practicing urology because of the great variety in medical and surgical treatments and also in helping different types of patients including younger, older, women and men. He strives to make sure each patient has the opportunity to ask questions, as Dr. Smith likes to develop a collaborative relationship with each patient.

He specializes in general urology, no-scalpel vasectomies, urinary difficulties (slow flow and control problems) and kidney stone disease. He is also an authority on InterStim sacral neuromodulation and prostate brachytherapy.

Dr. Smith and his wife have four children in their blended family. Dr. Smith is a music aficionado, and in his free time he enjoys playing the guitar and singing. He is also an avid Bruce Springsteen fan and enjoys following The Boss on tour. In addition to traveling to new places, Dr. Smith enjoys all the hiking, biking and skiing Colorado has to offer.
